Spare a thought for the Illawarra's very own Peter V'landys who are doing absolutely everything within their power to keep their sport alive during the coronavirus pandemic and therefore keep athletes and coaches in jobs.
You're renegotiating commercial deals, securing venues, placating broadcast partners, working with governments of all forms and redoing match schedules only to have to redo them again and again.
Then, to top that all off you have players and officials from your own sport foolishly breaking the guidelines put in place so they can maintain their livelihood.
The most dumbfounding example came last week when Collingwood's AFL coach Nathan Buckley broke the AFL's guidelines to have a hit of tennis with Alicia Molik.
And now in the NRl we have a veteran coach and a veteran player sent into isolation for 14 days after breaking the NRL's bubble rules by dining at public eateries.
On Thursday, Vaughan issued a public apology.
"I am very remorseful for the reckless and selfish decision I have made," Vaughan said.
"Everyone within the Dragons' bubble, including myself, are well aware of the protocols in place. I'm sorry for the harm my actions have caused to the club and my teammates."
As he should, V'landy's unleashed on both Bennett and Vaughan. God help both of them if they run into him soon.
"I think this is a wake up call to all our participants, all of our players, all of our support staff. That if we continue to do this, even forgetting about this year, it jeopardises the game for future generations," V'landys said.
"Because if we don't finish this year, it will have consequential effects on future generations - including themselves. Because the pain will be felt in the next two or three years."
Hopefully those words ring loud in the ears of every player, coach and official.
