In an update on Sunday morning, NSW Deputy Chief Health Officer Dr Jeremy McAnulty said those two were part of a larger number of COVID-19 cases whose origins were a mystery.
"While most cases in the past week have been associated with local clusters and close contacts of known cases, 11 cases have not been linked to known cases, indicating that COVID-19 is circulating in the community," Dr McAnulty said.
"It is extremely important that we all play our part in preventing the disease at all times."
Of the remaining cases reported to 8pm on Saturday, one is a returned international traveller who is in hotel quarantine and seven were locally acquired and all close contacts of known cases.
Of the known clusters, four cases reported on Sunday were linked to the funeral events in Bankstown and surrounding suburbs.
The 10 new cases of COVID-19 bring the total in NSW to 3672.
In the 24 hours to 8pm Saturday there were 31,681 tests reported, compared with 24,421 in the previous 24 hours.
On Saturday a health alert was issued after an employee at the Campbelltown Bunnings store tested positive.
The employee, who wore a mask and practiced social distancing, worked in the store on August 4 (11am to 7pm), August 5 (8am-4pm) and August 6 (1-3pm).
Close contacts among staff members have been identified and are self-isolating.
NSW Health is advising customers on those days to be alert for COVID-19.
If even mild symptoms occur, they should get tested and isolate themselves.
