Wollongong residents seem keen on the strategy, with more than 900 comments marked on the interactive online map that identifies the community's current experience.
Acting Wollongong Mayor,Tania Brown said once the strategy is endorsed an implementation plan will be developed that will guide how Council takes action to improve cycling.
"While this Strategy is key to providing a focus and direction, we're already taking steps to support improved cycling experiences for people of all abilities," Cr Brown said.
"Just as we're seeking community feedback on this document, we're also asking residents for comments about a project looking at new cycling routes in key locations in the Wollongong CBD, Port Kembla, Towradgi and Thirroul..
"These changes will include upgrades such as new cycleways, safer on-road cycling and shared pathways."
