Set on 557.7sqm, the home at 12 Red Sands Avenue, Shell Cove, sold for $1.9 million this week.
The six-bedroom, three-bathroom house sits opposite parklands and was completed three years ago.
The property had been on the market for more than a year.
Selling agent, Ray White Shellharbour City principal Amanda Bonnici said it was purchased by a local buyer.
Ms Bonnici said the home's Hamptons-style vibe had proven appealing to prospective buyers.
The Hamptons-style approach is inspired by the architecture and decorating of holiday homes in the seaside communities along the eastern beaches of upstate New York's neighbouring Long Island.
A key element to the Hamptons-style look is liberal use of the colour white.
Other features of the property include a resort-style pool.
According to Pricefinder, the previous sale price record for Shell Cove was $1,885,000, set in 2019.
Ms Bonnici said the Shell Cove area had proven popular with local and Sydney buyers of late, despite the pandemic.
"There have been more high-end properties sell during the COVID time in Shell Cove than all of last year," she said.
"What people have been saying to me is they can work from home now, and they only have to go to the office one or two days a week.
"So they can live anywhere, and are relocating to areas where they can get a better lifestyle.
"And when they do eventually have to go back to work (at the office), they'll only have to go back a couple of days a week."
