The property is located at 395 Jamberoo Mountain Road, Jamberoo.
The 75-acre property features an architecturally designed home with four bedrooms and two bathrooms.
Of the 75 acres, about 30 acres is cleared and utilised for cattle.
Peter and Deborah Forrester bought the property more than 20 years ago.
"We used it as a weekender initially with a view to it being a place to retire, and we just fell in love with the area," Mrs Forrester said.
"On Sunday nights it was a real wrench to go home back to Sydney."
Therefore, they expedited their plans to relocate, and a few years after buying the property it became their full-time residence.
They undertook a knockdown-rebuild of the existing dwelling, which was completed nearly 12 years ago.
Mr Forrester described it as a "classic country Australian home", and the property as a "perfect mix of open space and forest".
Mr Forrester said privacy was one of the property's key features.
"We have some neighbours nearby - they're about 500 to 600 metres away, but you can't see their houses," he said.
"The nearest house we can actually see is two kilometres away... So we've got amazing privacy.
"When we bought the place, it was from a real estate in Jamberoo and they had a little sign down at the gate that just said, '75 acres, astonishing views'.
"Estate agents are normally given to hyperbole, but I thought that was a really accurate description. When we got up here... You can't get a photo that does it justice I don't think."
The property can accommodate up to 25 livestock and features fenced paddocks, gravity-fed troughs, large spring-fed dam, cattle yards and crush.
The gardens with their water features are serviced by an automatic irrigation system.
Mrs Forrester said the property offered privacy and serenity.
"You can't help but feel totally peaceful and separate from all of the particular woes of our present world," she said.
"It's paradise. We have beautiful valley views; it's rolling green hills right to the ocean."
The Forresters are selling in order to downsize.
"The time has come for us to hand it over to someone else, and for us to have a smaller property," she said.
"It's a retreat, but also it could be somewhere that someone could live permanently and work from here."
The selling agents are The Agency Southern Highlands' Ben Olofsen and Cameron McKillop.
