A small village for women over 55 living alone to be built at Kanahooka
Great idea but would be great also to see land released for multiple occupancy so people can do this for themselves rather than/as well as developers.
Brilliant idea. Now we just need very affordable options rolled out. This type of housing ingenuity is what Australia needs.
Great idea, I've visited nursing homes and never understood why they had men roaming around flashing themselves in the same area as the lil ol ladies, too much we deserve a break from them at that age.
How many women in that age group, that haven't already got a home, have $200,000 to start now?
So what happened to the Henry Brooks Estate @ $700k plus? A cash flow problem? No new buyers?
The prices for retirees have doubled during construction.
Will Jasmine Gardens be subsidised by the Government like the "IRT" co-project at Bulli? Hospital?
This is awesome. Hopefully more estates and accommodation like this will become available in the future.
This is good, but what about men in similar situations. Research show that men suffer more from isolation and loneliness.
Read this in today's Illawarra Mercury, what an innovative idea, it's been way overdue for women over 55yrs on their own, bravo.
I'd love it but where do I find 199k? Unattainable for most I'd think...
How an unloved Dapto pool was converted into a natural pond
Great use of a hole in the ground into which you throw cash. Well done. I hope you get lots of pleasure out of it as the plants grow and flourish.
All it takes is for a neighbour to complain to council and a clean-up order will be placed on the property. It will soon stink, be overrun with algae and full of mosquitoes.
Ohh a turtle would love to live in there. Cover the edges with some rocks and plants.
Sorry kids! Government shuts door on the great outdoors
The benefits of experiential learning in the outdoors are second to none.
It's a joke can't go on an excursion or have a graduation or formal , no school camps either ... But hey off u go to the footy with 20'000+ other people.
Can it not be organised in small groups for 2 nights away each group. Or small group excursions over the week?
