Chief executive Ron de Jongh said 2020 had been a rough year with the drought, bushfires, floods and COVID-19 and Grand Pacific Health had had people reach out for support who had never needed mental health support services before. "Now, more than ever, we need to use this day as a reminder to have some conversations with those around us and simply start with R U OK?"
R U OK Day is a suicide prevention charity empowering people to start conversations around mental health and wellbeing in the hope of breaking down stigma, building connections and offering support. Tips on what to say are available on the R U OK website.
