HARS Aviation Museum is opening early on Friday so visitors can come and see its Vietnam veteran Caribou taking off from Shellharbour Airport.
Doors to the museum will open an hour early at 8.30am with the Caribou 234 set to take off at 9am to make a short flight to Woronora cemetery for a flypast at a defence funeral service before its returns to HARS Aviation Museum.
The take off and landing is a rare occurrance.
In the world there are only three Caribou in original condition that are airworthy.
One is in the United States and two are maintained and flown by the dedicated team of volunteers at HARS Aviation Museum.
Tarmac Days are back this weekend with further Caribou flights taking part around midday on Saturday and Sunday.
