Ambulance crews were called to the accident site near the intersection of Mt Keira Road shortly before 11am.
It is understood the cyclist has come off his bike and there is no other vehicle involved in the accident.
The 43-year-old rider was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The rider had suffered compound fractures to his right leg and the rescue helicopter was on standby but has since been called off as ambulance crews plan to transport him by road.
