Transport for NSW is widening the road east of Cordeaux Dam Road to install a median barrier along a 1.7 kilometre section.
The road is reduced to one lane in each direction and concrete barriers have been installed along the westbound lane to ensure the safety of workers and road users.
Work is already taking place on weekdays between 7am and 6pm but from Sunday through to Thursday crews will be working at night as well.
The night hours will be between 7.30pm and 4.30am.
During night work hours, a reduced speed limit of 40 km/h will be in place.
Motorists may experience occasional delays to allow access for construction vehicles and wide loads through the site.
Motorists are advised to allow up to five minutes additional travel time.
