The trainer has been forced to rejig his plans for the spring after the gelding did not earn a start in the 2000 metre Kingston Town Stakes.

Instead, Think it Over ran a solid second in a 1600m benchmark 88 at Royal Randwick, the five-year-old clearly seeking a longer journey.

Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott's Discharged claimed the win after enjoying a soft run before kicking clear down the straight as Think It Over attempted to work through traffic.

Having impressed in three city runs this prep, Parker is confident his horse can vie for victory if he receives a place in the 2000m Hill Stakes field on October 3.

"I've had to throw all my plans out the window after we didn't get into the 2000m on Saturday," Parker said.

"He'll run in the Hill Stakes. It's weight for age, which is a shame, I'd have preferred a handicap with no weight on his back.

"With the races available, I'm hoping we don't get a full field and he slips in with his benchmark. If that goes well, we'll look at the Craven Plate and maybe the Rosehill Gold Cup."

After heading to Sydney on Saturday, Parker travelled south to the Shoalhaven for Sunday's race day in Nowra.

The meeting was dominated by city trainers, with Gary Portelli claiming two winners.

Robert and Luke Price flew the flag for the locals, with First Courrier taking out a 1600m benchmark 66. Stablemate All Tiara was third.
