With coronavirus forcing the postponement of numerous sporting competitions, there is a logjam of events throughout the coming months.
Jones continued to work hard throughout the shutdown and is looking forward to a busy summer that will culminate with the Australian Age Swimming Championships and Australian Surf Life Saving Titles.
"It was disappointing events were cancelled and postponed," Jones said. "We have some new dates to work towards now, so I've made some new goals and am focusing on them.
"It's going to get really busy pretty soon, I just have to stay on target and look after my body.
"Coming up next year will be the national championships. I'll be up at the Gold Coast two weeks in a row, going straight from one to the other. It will be hard, but it's super exciting to think about that coming up."
A multi-sport star, Jones has been named the Illawarra Academy of Sport lonestar athlete of the year.
The 15-year-old won four gold medals in the pool at the NSW Swimming Championships and was a member of the victorious Surf Life Saving NSW Youth team.
Jones praised the Academy for playing a crucial role in supporting her throughout this year.
"The Academy have made it such a family and team environment this year. Even though we were at home, it was still a team and it motivated me to keep training."
