The Wollongong Saints and Bulldogs both advanced to AFL South Coast's grand final day on October 10 with semi-final wins on Saturday afternoon.
The teams earned their grand final spots in contrasting styles. The Saints thrashed Kiama by 71 points at North Dalton Park, while the Bulldogs edged past Bomaderry by seven points in Nowra.
For the Saints, Saturday's result continues their impressive return to the AFL South Coast competition after winning last year's Sydney Division One premiership.
The side remains unbeaten in 2020 and coach Anthony O'Donoghue said it was a great win against the Power.
"They played very well, considering the conditions," he said.
"The conditions were terrible. [But] they moved the ball around the ground well and made sure they kept control of it, and they went pretty well."
In a low-scoring grand final rematch, the Bulldogs kept their title defence alive with a 3.4 (22) to 2.3 (15) victory over the 2018 champions at Nowra Showground.
Leading by a point at three-quarter time, Wollongong were able to muster the match winner in the final quarter.
O'Donoghue said he expected another tough challenge from the Bulldogs on grand final day.
"We've played them once this year and it was a hard, tough and physical game. And we expect the same thing," he said.
"Our girls have played well all year. We thought that we were going to make it and now that we have, we also think the Bulldogs are the team we should be facing. Though we were a little surprised they did beat Bomaderry."
However, Saturday was a mixed bag for the Saints after their Women's Division One side lost their grand final to Shellharbour.
The Suns clinched their club's first ever AFL South Coast premiership with a 3.5 (23) 1.0 (6) win at North Dalton Park.
Figtree claimed the Men's Division Two flag with a 6.12 (48) to 1.4 (10) victory.
The Kangaroos and Nowra will meet in the Men's Division One grand final next Saturday, while Figtree will tackle the Bulldogs in the Men's Premier Division decider on October 10.
