The Falcons now hope to create a new slice of history, with their District League side - captained by Vinton's son Jarryd - on the brink of claiming some silverware.
Heading into the last round of this season, the Falcons lead the league by one point from Unanderra and can wrap up the premiers trophy when they face Thirroul Thunder on Saturday afternoon.
Falcons coach Nathan Minutillo said it was a "super exciting" time for the club".
"They were telling me at training on Tuesday that they've only had one league championship and it was right after they amalgamated 45 years ago," Minutillo said.
"The captain of that squad was Mark Vinton, who is our captain Jarryd's father. It's something that we've looked to do all year and hopefully we can bring it home.
"I think over the last couple of weeks, we've been really able to string together some good performances and we're starting to get all of our players back from injury. And the guys are excited to get the job done on the weekend."
