A rescue helicopter landed at WIN Stadium to airlift the woman to St George Hospital around 11am, while the male driver and another male patient were transported by road to Wollongong Hospital.
Initial reports to emergency services were the woman somehow became wedged under the vehicle at the intersection of Crown and Harbour Streets in Wollongong around 9.30am.
Four NSW Ambulance crews and a specialist medical team were dispatched to the scene.
The woman was treated for suspected abdomen, pelvic and lower leg injuries and is in a stable condition, according to paramedics.
NSW Ambulance Illawarra Inspector Matt Sterling said the woman was lucky to be alive and escape with only minor injuries.
"She was obviously in a lot of pain ... this had the potential to be fatal," he said.
"You get quite nervous when the call comes over the radio and it involves a truck and a pedestrian."
Police investigations are continuing.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area, with delays expected for some time.
More to come.
