About 11.40am police were called to Aitkin Place, following reports a man had crashed an unregistered trail bike into a car.
Authorities said Phoenix Quinn was travelling fast enough that, after hitting the car, he somersaulted over the top and landed head-first into the windscreen of a second car parked behind the first.
He then rolled off the car and onto a driveway, which is where police found him.
The rider was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Officers from Lake Illawarra Police District were first on the scene and started CPR while waiting for ambulance crews to arrive.
The bike rider was airlifted to St George Hospital for emergency surgery by a Toll helicopter in a critical condition.
He suffered head injuries, a partially amputated left leg and chest injuries, according to paramedics at the scene.
NSW Ambulance Illawarra Inspector Terry Morrow said his left thigh muscles were "degloved", with a severe laceration down to the bone, and a torniquet had to be applied to stop significant blood loss.
He passed away on Wednesday morning, suspected to be from internal injuries.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
