Tenders for the main construction contractor open "within weeks".
The rebuild, which will deliver a new Industrial Arts Block to replace the building that was destroyed by the November 3, 2018 fire, will be used as an opportunity to deliver modern school infrastructure with sustainable solutions and contemporary learning spaces
The new building will include two trade training centres for construction and metalwork, wood and metal workshops, as well as general learning spaces, amenities and a staff room.
At the height of the fire, 15 Illawarra-based trucks containing 60 firefighters were onsite battling the inferno, which could be seen in neighbouring suburbs.
It was eventually extinguished later that afternoon, however not before destroying six classrooms and damaging three more.
At present new demountables are on site and being used as the school's industrial arts building.
A principal design consultant has already developed concept plans for the rebuild, with the project scheduled for completion by December 2021.
Education Minister Sarah Mitchell said she was excited to see that the Corrimal community was getting closer to seeing these replacement facilities.
"The rebuild at Corrimal High School will be a valuable asset for local families and will benefit the local community for generations. I'm proud that we are continuing our record investment in school infrastructure," Ms Mitchell said.
