A number of new retail areas at The Waterfront dining precinct at Shell Cove are available for rental.
The retail tenancies, all reportedly boasting wide frontages and oversized alfresco areas will overlook the marina and promenade.
Mr Machan said more than 900sqm of space was on offer including the alfresco areas, and could potentially be divided into several shopfronts.
MMJ Wollongong leasing director Travis Machan said the areas available range from 54sqm upwards and offer A-Grade retail accommodation equipped with commercial infrastructure and amenities catering to tenants' needs.
"Already confirmed is a new tavern owned by award-winning hotel group Balmoral Hospitality," he said.
"This is going to be a world-class tourism destination and the marina precinct will no doubt be the epicentre of activity.
"We expect to attract the best selection of cafes and restaurant operators to this outstanding development.
"This will be the jewel in the crown of the whole development, and it's open to the public to secure.
"You get lots of shops to lease and sell over time, but you can't get more waterfront than this."
Michael Croghan from MMJ said this was the "most exciting hospitality opportunity that has come to the market in this region in living memory", and has been "decades in the making".
The Waterfront, Shell Cove is a Shellharbour City Council development with Frasers Property Australia.
According to Frasers, The Waterfront dining precinct, together with the tavern, is scheduled for completion in mid-2021.
In September, the Mercury reported that the flooding of the new man-made harbour at the Shell Cove Marina would be pushed back by about three months due to recent heavy rainfall.
A progress report presented to councillors revealed that the boat harbour would likely begin being filled by late December, with the first boats able to moor in mid-2021.
Originally, the harbour was due to start being filled around October.
A public opening of the Shell Cove Harbour and the Shellharbour Marina is now planned for late July 2021.
