The Corrimal talent is one of six Dragons players to be selected in the 20-woman team.

Davis has long been touted a future star, however her path to the Origin arena has been lengthy.

After making her Jillaroos debut in 2018, the 20-year-old was overlooked for NSW selection last season.

The five-eighth and hooker rebounded to lead the Dragons to the 2019 NRLW grand final and started in Australia's victory over New Zealand at WIN Stadium last October.

St George Illawarra teammate Kezie Apps was named as captain, the forward racing the clock to overcome a knee injury before the standalone clash on November 13.

While she still has a way to go before being cleared, the skipper is confident she'll be fit to play.

"The knee's feeling pretty good," Apps said. "I think I'm on track with returning to play.

"I'm in really good hands with [Mick Baines] at Baimed, so I've been dealing with him since the injury, basically doing stuff every day.

"I think at the end of the day, it's going to be up to me. I'll see how I feel leading into it, see how I run."

After the last two Women's State of Origin matches were held at North Sydney Oval, this year's fixture will be played at Sunshine Coast Stadium.

With Queensland set to benefit from home-ground advantage, Apps is expecting a fiery welcome.

"I've experienced it in 2016 when we played up in the Gold Coast against them. They're just crazy rugby league fans. With borders probably not being open when we're playing our game, there's not going to be too many NSW fans in there.

"It's something we'll prepare the girls for. Blocking out the outside noise, making sure we are focusing on our jobs. It will be a different atmosphere for us, for sure, especially the last two years."

Joining Apps and Davis in the NSW team are Shaylee Bent, Tiana Penitani, Jess Sergis and Isabelle Kelly, who is also on track to be fit to play.

Sam Bremner was unavailable for selection due to travel requirements.

St George Illawarra forward Steph Hancock was named in the Queensland team.

The Blues will travel to the Sunshine Coast on Friday, where they will enter a COVID bubble. The squad will stay at the same resort the Melbourne Storm resided during their run to the NRL premiership.
