The popularity of the annual party has resulted in a wait list for those who missed out on booking a place and competing for the most creative surgical mask Halloween design.
Science Space had a huge response when it announced it was holding a COVID version of Spookfest, promising - even with social distancing measures - it would be an evening filled with safe fun, frights and laughter. It encouraged families to come in costume and explore the centre after dark.
"This will be our third annual Spookfest. We have have sold out each year. There will be 225 people in attendance this year," Science Space's Meg Gibson said.
In addition to ghouls and goblins, families attending from 5.30pm on Friday will get to see a special immersive planetarium show or a live science show as well as play in the exhibition space at night with a few spooky surprises in store.
The event will also include a best masked costume competition, haunted house and outdoor masked maze.
