Just minutes after United were crowed Illawarra Premier League premiers following a 1-0 win over Woonona, the popular midfielder received the Scott Chipperfield Medal as the game's player of the match.
Tsovolos then capped off a big day by being awarded the George Naylor Medal as the IPL's 2020 Player of the Year, edging out Cringila's Toby Norval for the honour.
While happy to be recognised for individual and team success, Tsovolos was quick to praise Woonona for their fighting spirit on Sunday.
"It was tough to get on the ball against them, they just shut you down whenever you get it. I just had to work I guess, and we got the result in the end," he said.
"Woonona are an awesome team. Lots of people talk about how well structured they are, but I think that actually discredits how awesome they are. Boys like Tyler [Bromham-Fuller], 'Lukey' [McCosker], they don't give the ball away. Cam [Besgrove], Taro [Regan Williams] at the back, they don't make any mistakes. They're a tough team.
"I think it was one of those games where tactics went out the window and you just had to hustle, and make sure it ended up in the back of the net. It sort of sums up our season against them, it was very tight in all three games [United won each game 1-0 versus Woonona].
"But in those big moments, we managed to step up and have something there. But it was a tough game. It just feels good to get the win."
A number of other individual IPL honours were handed out after Sunday's grand final.
Coniston's Blake Horton was named Goalkeeper of the Year, Woonona coach Dan McGoldrick received the Coach of the Year Award while Bellambi's Vaughan Patterson wrapped up the IPL's Top Goal Scorer honour.
