The Phoenix landed here on Sunday for a three-week pre-season training camp, as discussion continue about what the competition will look like.
But having the club here during the summer, at least until a trans-Tasman bubble opens and they can return home to play, would result in top-flight games being played at WIN Stadium.
And you'll see the crowds, even with the socially distant Covid restrictions, turn out, particularly for the Sydney FC and Western Sydney Wanderers fixtures.
As discussed previously in the column, it would also be a showcase for the Illawarra's facilities and capacity to host elite football, as the Wolves continue the push for a place in the national second division or A-League.
It's also an example of the region's capacity to host a training camp for a nation during the Women's World Cup in 2023.
So welcome to the Phoenix and hopefully we are able to see what you're capable of on the pitch in Wollongong soon.
