State member for Goulburn Wendy Tuckerman has issued an alert on her Facebook page regarding the COVID case at Moss Vale Public School.
"Moss Vale Public School will be non-operational for on-site teaching and learning tomorrow [November 6] due to a possible case of COVID-19," Ms Tuckerman's post said.
"The school has been advised by NSW Health of a possible case of COVID-19. The person concerned is being tested and the results will be confirmed tomorrow.
"The school will be non-operational for the on-site attendance of staff and students tomorrow and will be thoroughly cleaned as an extra precaution while we await the test results."
All staff and students are required to self-isolate until further advice to be provided tomorrow.
NSW Health has requested anyone who has been unwell, even with the mildest symptoms, to be tested as a priority at one of the COVID-19 testing clinics.
Parents of children who attend Southern Highlands Early Learning Childcare Centre on Beaconsfield Road, Moss Vale, were notified on Thursday afternoon that the pre-school would also be closed on Friday.
"The parent who tested positive for COVID-19 did attend Southern Highlands Early Childhood Learning Centre to drop of their child while they were infectious," a message to parents said.
"This occurred on Wednesday 4th November between 9am and 10am. Any staff member, child or parent who was there at the time would be considered a casual contact.
"They are not required to isolate, but they will need to carefully monitor for symptoms and get tested if they experience even mild symptoms."
