Manchester City then won 8-1 against a depleted Bristol City side who were left unhappy that their match went ahead at all while they had five first-team players absent because of COVID-19.
Former Lyon striker Morgan, the biggest signing the English game has seen, made the switch to north London in September and missed the start of the season as she gained match fitness.
She came on for her first match in about 15 months in the 70th minute as her side pushed for a winner, but they ended up having to settle for a share of the spoils.
Morgan, who gave birth in May, was watched at the Hive Stadium by her baby daughter Charlie, kitted out in Spurs gear.
"It's fun to look up after the match and see her there supporting me," Morgan said.

Tottenham, for whom Australian international Alanna Kennedy played just over an hour before being replaced, head to Bristol City next weekend still looking for their first win of the campaign following just two points from their opening six matches.
Later, Bristol City were left fuming after their thrashing at City, with their manager Tanya Oxtoby adamant that the game should not have been played because of safety concerns.
City were without five first-team players due to COVID-19 self-isolation although Australian international Chloe Logarzo was in the starting line-up.
City won at a canter, with Ellen White netting twice. Her second goal was the England international's 50th WSL goal.
