The Lake Illawarra talent has applauded Football Federation Australia's decision to launch the W-League and A-League seasons as a double header at Bankwest Stadium. It is the first time the two competitions have run in tandem.
Matos's Western Sydney Wanderers will take on Melbourne Victory in a round one clash as a curtain raiser to Macarthur FC's A-League debut against the Wanderers.
The full 2020/21 W-League draw is expected to be released later this week.
"It's actually really exciting, it will hopefully be my first time playing on Bankwest Stadium. With the boys playing smack bang after us, the atmosphere will be unreal," Matos, 20, said.
"It will be massive exposure for us. So many people will come, the boys will draw them in, but we're there too to put on a show. So it's pretty exciting for us all."
Matos, who re-signed with the Wanderers in September, has already returned to pre-season training with the club.
The Illawarra Stingrays defender said the W-League season start was fast approaching.
"The season is sneaking up really quickly. We got told when pre-season was starting and then that came up so quickly. We're now in our second week into it and it feels like last week was just a blur now already," he said.
"But it's really exciting to nearly be there. Pre-season has been pretty good but very intense."
