Committed Daryn McDonough and his boys proved that you don't always need burly to catch a shark when young gun Jye nailed the rare feat of a mako shark on a lure.
First day out on new boat On Edge saw them trolling for tuna when an obliging 96.4 kilogram mako took a liking to the skirted lure on the 24kg outfit.
Congratulations also to Amanda Linturn on her 25.5kg yellowfin tuna.
Apparently hubby Hadyn is just as happy with the excellent table food she was able to supply.
Tyler Atkins is also elated with his 188.9kg mako on only 15kg tackle after quite a long, arduous fight.

Wollongong Game boat Wild Bill hauled yellowfin between 25-30kg from fishing out of Port Kembla and trolling south past the Kiama canyon longitude and inside the 500 fathom line.
