But first The Rail need to overcome the rising Kiama outfit in Saturday's one-day round at Croome Road.
Following a bye last weekend, The Rail are third, but can jump into second and qualify for the one-day decider next month, ahead of Oak Flats - who sit out the last 50-over round - if they win.
"It's a pretty simple equation for us," Gilly said.
"I think we're in a pretty good position though.
"Against Warilla (Kookas, before the bye) we put it all together, whereas before that we'd been playing at 70 per cent and had some lapses here and there.
"But Kiama have been great coming back into the competition, I've been keeping an eye on them and they'll definitely be a handful on Saturday."
Fifth on the overall ladder with a 2-3 record, Kiama are out of the one-day reckoning, but still firmly in the hunt for a finals sport next year, as the two-dayers begin next week.
The Rail has already tangled with the all-conquering Lake Illawarra, going down by two overs and three wickets.
Gilly is eager to earn another chance for silverware in the one-day final to be played on December 13.
"It' something we've aimed at," he said.
"We know how good Lake have been, but we didn't bowl all that well last time, so it would be great to seal our place in the final and do it again."
In other matches, Lakers tackle Kookas, while Albion Park meet Shellharbour.
