The full program has yet to be announced, but organisers have confirmed a few favourites on the list.
They will be launching the season with a feast of festive films, like timeless classics Love Actually and Home Alone to bring on the Christmas spirit.
New releases will also be in the mix, including dark comedy The Witches starring Anne Hathaway, and the home-grown comedy/drama Rams starring Sam Neill and Michael Caton.
Family favourites to keep the children entertained include the magical remake of The Secret Garden and the high-energy animation Trolls World Tour.
Patrons are welcome to pack and bring their own picnic hamper, or satisfy their tastebuds with the food trucks on hand.
Gates open 6.30pm with movies usually beginning at dusk.
Organisers advise to check the weather forecast before heading out and dress accordingly.
In the unlikely event of a cancellation, a notification will come via SMS and email to ticketholders, with an exchange option available for other screenings.
It seems the gardens will be the only regular movie theatre in Wollongong for the time being, following the indefinite closure of Greater Union on Burelli Street in October.
The next closest cinemas are in Warrawong, Shellharbour or Miranda.
