Itree's Wollongong office became one of Objective's four world class development centres on Monday following an acquisition that has brought together two Illawarra IT success stories.

Since Objective founder Tony Walls started the company at his parents' home in Port Kembla in 1987 it has grown to become an ASX listed company with over 400 employees working with over 1000 organisations across 60 countries.
And iTree has more than 20 years' experience developing award-winning software for government agencies and regulators in Australia and New Zealand.
Mr Walls said the companies shared parallels in delivering outcomes for government and communities and expects that will open the door to exciting possibilities.
"Today marks a new chapter in this journey of two companies with similar values and visions becoming one. We're coming together just at the right time and we are going to make something outstanding with our combined experience and passion," he said.

Former Itree chief executive Ben Hobby said the team at the Innovation Campus remain dedicated to helping customers productively carry out the essential work of delivering safety, regulation, compliance and enforcement outcomes that make communities safer places to live.
Mr Hobby said the same products Itree customers know and love still exist and are now known as Objective RegWorks and Objective Reach.
"Under iTree, these products have delivered improved outcomes for government and communities for decades," he said.
