She was asleep when an official called on Tuesday morning to break the news that she had become an overnight millionaire with a division one winning entry in Monday and Wednesday Lotto draw 4030.
"Wait, can you say that again? Did you really say I've won one million dollars?" she asked.
"You've got me in a fuzzy state. I don't want to get too excited, I might drop dead.
"I am going to be in a whirlwind all day. Wow."
When asked how she intended to enjoy her windfall, the elated player said she needed to let the news sink in before she made any firm plans.
"I don't even believe this is real, so I can't even begin to imagine what I will do with it," she said.
"Of course, I'll share it with my family.
"I might take them out for lunch this week and break the news then."
East Woonona Newsagency owner Paul Schmidt, who sold the winning marked 12-game entry, said he couldn't be happier for the winner.
"We are stoked for our winner. I can imagine it was a great way to start the day, finding out you've just become a millionaire.
"We've sold a few division one winning entries in the past and it's always so exciting.
"I'd love to send my congratulations to our winner. The whole team here wish her the very best with her prize.
"Hopefully it can make for an extra special Christmas."
The winning numbers in Monday and Wednesday Lotto draw 4030 were 31, 38, 42, 13, 5 and 9, while the supplementary numbers were 1 and 30.
