There are 46 locations along the coast from Tweed Heads to Eden and dates and collection points can be viewed at the Roads and Maritime website.
Most flares have a use-by date of three years and must be replaced before the expiry date. Flares contain explosive matter which makes safe and legal disposal difficult.
The expired flares collection program provides the boating community with an opportunity to safely dispose of their out-of-date flares.
Please note that flare collection or disposal is no longer available at service centres, registries or maritime sites owing to safety issues and storage facilities.

NSW government will hand fishers greater certainty and transparency in fisheries management decisions through the development of tailored harvest strategies in direct partnership with commercial, recreational and Aboriginal fishers.
The state government is committed to partnering industry and the community to manage the state's fisheries to provide a more secure operating environment. Hopefully, all parties have a common goal - the sustainability of our fisheries resources and maximising benefits to the sectors that rely on them.
NSW Fisheries Harvest Strategy Policy is being developed through the NSW Fisheries Advisory Council process.
