The Opal-laden Flyers finished on top of the ladder after a dominant 11-2 home-and-away campaign, with Cambage's hot form a key to their success.

Cambage was particularly ruthless against the Fire.

The 203cm centre sunk 31 points and snared 13 rebounds in a 101-89 win on November 19 and nine days later backed that up with 26 points and nine rebounds in a 94-70 victory.

Seebohm said it was a huge challenge trying to curb the influence of Cambage and one his team hasn't been able to pull off successfully so far this season.

"We've got to do a much better job with her," Seebohm said.

"We need to knuckle down and be a lot more physical with her. We need to be a lot more disciplined defensively with her.

"I don't think it just comes down to our bigs, it's our entire team, we need to be a lot better.

"She's one of the most impressive players Australian basketball has ever seen in terms of her skill set and size.

"It's a big task but it's one we're looking forward to."

The winner of the Flyers-Fire semi-final will earn a spot in Sunday's grand final.

The loser will face a preliminary final showdown on Friday against the UC Capitals or Melbourne Boomers, who face off in the minor semi-final on Wednesday.

The Capitals are aiming for a third-straight title but they will have to do it the hard way after their final-round loss dropped them from second to third on the ladde - missing out on the double finals chance.

The Boomers beat the Capitals 73-67 when they met on December 1.

All finals games will be played in Townsville, giving the Fire an advantage in their title bid.
