A tragic motor vehicle accident in a home garage has left a 93-year-old West Nowra woman with almost an amputated foot.

Just after noon on Thursday, December 17 emergency services were called to an a home in Beyeri Avenue.
Police were told the woman's husband was parking their car in the garage when it struck a fridge, which in turn fell onto the woman badly injuring her left leg.
Police said the woman, who was standing in front of the fridge at the time, was struck by the white good, with the weight and impact causing massive injuries to her left ankle.
Police said woman's foot was almost amputated in the incident.

She was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance Paramedics and taken to Shoalhaven District Hospital in a serious condition.
The Toll NSW Ambulance Rescue Helicopter was called to Shoalhaven Hospital, landing on the helipad but Ambulance media said the woman was transferred to Wollongong Hospital by road ambulance.
The man, also believed to be in his 90s, was shaken but was uninjured in the incident.
