A man will face court on Christmas Day charged with attempted murder following a domestic-related incident at Wollongong on Thursday night. About 9.20pm a 63-year-old man was at his Wollongong home, when he was confronted in the bedroom by a 31-year-old man, known to him. It's alleged the younger man, armed with a knife, placed the older man in a headlock and cut his throat. His injuries are not considered life-threatening. Officers from Wollongong Police District commenced inquiries and attended a home on Corrimal Street where the 31-year-old man was arrested. He was taken to Wollongong Police Station and charged with cause wounding/grievous bodily harm to person with intent to murder (DV). The man was refused bail to appear at Wollongong Local Court on Friday. Police are not seeking any other parties in relation to the incident.
