The three-year-old enters the 1200 metres race on the back of an impressive maiden victory on the Sapphire Coast last month in just her third career start.

Bateup holds a high opinion of the filly, the Kembla Grange trainer eager to see how she fares in a talented field that include's Anthony Mountney's recent addition Belieber and current TAB favourite Forbidden Love.

"It's probably a throw at the stumps, but she's a nice filly with a lot of ability," Bateup said.

"She reminds me of Monegal in a lot of ways. It's possibly a little bit too soon for her, she lacks the experience and seasoning of some of her opposition.

"At the same time, these races don't come along very often. She's drawn nicely, it's a throw at the stumps, we'll see how she measures up in this grade."

While Bateup recognises Divine Breath may not be ready to claim a Listed race, she's confident the daughter of Golden Rose runner-up Scissor Kick holds a bright future.

A run in the 1600m Group 3 Kembla Grange Classic is a possibility, the trainer also optimistic the horse can eventually win in the city.

"She's got a lot of upside to her. This race might come a little too early for her against that grade, but it's a good measuring stick.

"If she happens to get the right run in that race she can put herself there in the top four and gain black type. She's got a nice pedigree, I think she'll progress nicely."
