Huskisson Chamber of Commerce president, Danny Payne, welcomed the news.
"The key towns in the region are all open for business and welcoming visitors as usual," he said.
"Tourism representatives are concerned confusion about COVID-19 restrictions around Jervis Bay may deter visitors from the area.
Restrictions are in place for Jervis Bay Territory, which includes Booderee National Park, Wreck Bay and HMAS Creswell. People from COVID-19 hotspots in NSW, such as Greater Sydney, the Central Coast and Wollongong are not allowed to enter the territory, which is administered by the Commonwealth Government.
However, there are no restrictions on people visiting nearby Huskisson or Vincentia.
A representative from Shoalhaven Tourism said confusion about the restrictions has caused stress fro both visitors and busines owners.
"[There are reports of] people being turned away from the "Shoalhaven peninsula" region, which ... is not the case," the spokesperson said.
There are no checkpoints stopping people entering the peninsula, however, there is a checkpoint at the entrance to Booderee National Park on Jervis Bay Road.
