Maguire will return to the crease on 55 not out, alongside Brendan White (unbeaten 45), as the hosts resume their innings at 3/181 at Howard Fowles Oval. The Lakers already lead by 104, having rolled the Kookas for 77 on day one of the South Coast Cricket two-day clash.
Lakers all-rounder Kerrod White said his side, led by Maguire, would push hard for a big first innings total.
"We only want to bat first and roll them as quick as we can. We want to take full points, it's good for the club championship and that kind of stuff," White said.
"Ryan batted really well [last week], he was really composed. He always hits the ball well and given enough time he's not rushed or flustered. He did well on Saturday, he held us together."
White said the Lakers would need to bowl well in the second innings to claim an outright win.
"From what we've seen in the first innings, the wicket's good to bat on so it may be a bit more of a contest in the second innings, but we'll have to wait and see," he said.
"But someone always bowls well in either innings, or either game. Normally one person takes precedent. We will obviously bowl as many as we can, and we've got two spinners who are taking a lot of wickets. So that might even come into effect a bit more in the second innings."
In the other games, Shellharbour resume their innings at 2/71 - trailing Albion Park by 35 runs, while The Rail are 4/237 in their first innings against Kiama.
