"Tell the community where I'm at," Hawks coach Brian Goorjian said at the end of an unplanned and unscripted sermon typical of the master coach at the end of a press conference on Thursday night.
The speech from Goorjian, about returning the name of "Illawarra" back to the region's NBL club, came after his side had recorded a staggering start to the new season with three wins in less than a week.

The Hawks, missing two absolute superstars, had just polished off a strong Brisbane Bullets unit for the second time in a week.
The press conference had ended, but Goorjian hadn't.
"Is the Mercury there?," he said, making sure we were listening, before he got the words off his chest he needed to.
The man simply called "Goorj" asked us to deliver his message.
Well, we've done so. Loud and clear on our front page.
Every word, every beat of every sentence was carefully and perfectly chosen by the man himself.
It needed no interference from us.
It's just his words.
The Greatest of All-Time has spoken.
We are the Illawarra.
Message delivered.
JOHN YOU ARE A TRUE GEM
There could not be a more deserved winner of Wollongong's Citizen of the Year than Chaplain John Kewa.
At a time in the world when we were living in pandemic fear and anger, this was a man who found it in his heart to love.
And our region followed his lead.
Thanks to John we "loved the unlovables" and the way this region responded to show care and compassion to the crew stranded on the Ruby Princess in Port Kembla was highlighted around the world.
This is the type of act and John is the type of person we need to be highlighting, thanking and celebrating.
Thank you John for making your city and this region a better place.
We are better for learning from your compassion and empathy.
