The Phoenix, second last on the ladder after five games, have fallen to Sydney FC and Newcastle since moving to Wollongong in this alternate Covid-19 reality.
But they begin a recovery mission with three games in seven days, two of those at WIN Stadium, starting with shock leaders Central Coast on Sunday.
"It's a fantastic stadium," defender Tim Payne said.
"When we played Sydney there first up, they've got a good contingent of their fans and we've seen a lot of people from Wollongong come out and support the Phoenix.
"It's a great surface and we just hope we can make it a fortress, like we did at Sky Stadium (in Wellington) last year."
The Phoenix have managed just one win so far this campaign, but it did come against the Mariners, when Jaushua Sotirio's run snared a late winner.
"We have a little bit of confidence over them and the face we beat them last time," Payne said.
"But they're flying high, on top of the league.
"They're confident as well and they want to get one back us."
After the Mariners clash, the Phoenix travel to Melbourne to take on Victory on Wednesday, before returning to Wollongong to meet Western Sydney Wanderers on Sunday week.
Goalkeeper Stefan Marinovic believes the action-packed week could be just the remedy to their early-season woes.
"With those three games in quick succession, we'll be able to tack on performance after performance and turn those into as many points as possible," goalkeeper Stefan Marinovic said.
"I think the potential is there. Once you get that first win against Central Coast, you can build some great momentum and you're itching to get playing.
"Those three games in a row could be a blessing for us."
Kick-off is at 4.05pm on Sunday.
