From a 35-time ARIA nominated group, to a retiring Australian icon, and an indie-rock troupe from Menangle, there is plenty to choose from at the humble northern Illawarra venue this year.
It's been 10 years since The Rubens burst on the scene, and now the five-piece from the Macarthur region are expected to take out the number-one spot on the ARIA chart this week with their fourth studio album, 0202.
Saturday night's all ages gig in Thirroul is part of a six-date launch series to officially share their new album with the masses, supported by Illawarra rising star Stevan.
West Australian rock outfit Eskimo Joe have just announced their capital city (plus Thirroul) tour for early next year, performing albums Black Fingernails, Red Wine (2006) and A Song Is A City (2004) back-to-back in their entirety.
"Every song on each of these albums means so much to us and signifies such an important time in our lives and our career as a band," frontman Kav Temperly said.
"We've had this planned for quite some time but were unable to go ahead due to COVID-19 outbreaks and restrictions.
"In the interest of wanting to give our fans something to look forward to after this crazy year we've just had, we're announcing our 2022 tour now."
Tickets go on sale for the band with 11 ARIA awards on Friday February 19 through Ticket Master.
This year "True Blue" music legend John Williamson will celebrate 51 years in the entertainment industry, but at the same time will close the book on regular gigs with his The Winding Back tour.
The 75-year-old has come a long way since performing "Old Man Emu" on television's New Faces in 1970, to include 20 original albums plus a slew of accolades, like an Order of Australia.
Williamson's rescheduled tour will make it to Anita's Theatre on November 19 and 20, bringing with him his biggest hits before saying goodbye to large tours - tickets are on sale now through Ticket Master.
Other notable artists taking to the Anita's stage this year include The Whitlams, Thelma Plum, Deborah Conway, Kate Cebrano, plus comedians Arj Barker and the Sydney Comedy Festival Roadshow.
