The store has been in the works since July last year, and will be opening its doors to the public this weekend.
With a long history in retail, and owning other IGA stores, owner Sam Alikozay has now moved onto his newest venture as the owner of the IGA in Shellharbour Village.

Mr Alikozay says that the store will be having a "soft opening."
"So we will have a grand opening hopefully within a couple of weeks," he said.
He invites community members to come and do some shopping, have a look around or have a chat.
The store will focus on local produce, deli meats, fresh meats, frozen goods and everyday essentials.
Mr Alikozay is also excited to see the local community he loves in store.
"It's going to be a great opportunity for the customers for the area, it's quite handy," he said. "It will basically be their local supermarket."

In the lead-up to the opening, Mr Alikozay said he has received positive feedback from the public via social media, and in person.
"Customers (have been) walking around saying they can't wait for us to open," he said. "So when we do a grand opening, obviously we will do some giveaways, some gift cards, some barbecue."
The store has also gained support from other local businesses, including bulk wholefood store My Pantry, which stated: "We love the wonderful community of shops and cafes in the village, and the IGA will complete the picture."
