The song was recorded with Ryan Miller (Angus and Julia Stone, Peking Duk, Thelma Plum) at Hercules St Studios in Sydney.
"I'm Closed is a song about withdrawal and that feeling of needing to isolate yourself from others while you're feeling low in order to keep others happy," he said.
"Though, the way I've written this song sounds like it could be directed at a significant other, it's really aimed at anyone I love like friends and family."
Releasing his first self-produced singles in 2019, the 16-year-old Dharawal singer/songwriter, real name Aidan Whitehall, won JJJ's Unearthed High Indigenous Initiative with his coastal folk flavoured When Your Eyes Speak.
Following up with single Drive, which gained national rotation, in 2020 Aodhan featured on Bigsound and was nominated as an Unearthed High finalist for Twelve Again.
