Police alleged officers were patrolling the Princes Highway about 9.50pm when they witnessed a Holden Cruze sedan travelling above the posted speed limit and swerving between lanes.
Police gestured for the vehicle to stop and, when it failed to do so, gave chase.
It's alleged the Holden reached speeds of 130km/h, more than double the posted speed limit, before colliding with a parked car on Fowlers Road.
Central Coast resident Benjamin Gold, the alleged driver, is accused of fleeing on foot before being arrested a short distance away.
The 19-year-old was then taken to hospital for blood and urine testing and has since been charged with never licensed person drive vehicle on road, police pursuit, take and drive conveyance without consent of owner, speed manner dangerous, custody of knife in public place and not give particulars to other driver.
He appeared at Wollongong Local Court on Thursday, but did not apply for bail.
He was remanded in custody to appear at court again next week.
