A mother and daughter on their way home to Brotheridge Avenue in Calderwood had a lucky escape on Friday afternoon.

Michelle and Emma Lashbrook were turning the corner from Boxwood Avenue when they saw a truck careering down the their street with no driver.
They first saw the truck, which had been parked further up the hill, crash into Ms Lashbrook's new car that parked near their house.
They then watched in horror as it headed straight for them, sideswiping their at the intersection before colliding into a house in Boxwood Avenue.
Mrs Lashbrook said she couldn't believe two of the family's cars were both hit.
But she said cars can be replaced and they were grateful not to be seriously injured.
"I had just been out with my daughter," she said.
"She was with me as were coming around the corner and the side of my car was written off."
Mrs Lashbrook said if the truck had been slightly to the right or they had entered the intersection slightly earlier the collision between the truck and the car they were in could have been a lot worse.
"The truck was picking up a lot of speed as it got closer," she said.
Ms Lashbrook said she will never forget seeing what was unfolding in front of her eyes.
"We were driving up and saw the truck take out my car which I bought only a four days ago," she said.
"After watching my brand new car get crushed it just kept coming closer and closer to us. That was terrifying"
Both women are thinking they should buy a lottery ticket this week after their lucky escape and were told the truck's hand brake may have failed.
Ms Lashbrook said she was just thankful no children or residents in the street were walking or playing in the truck's path
NSW Police, Fire & Rescue NSW and three NSW Ambulance crews responded to the reports of a truck colliding into a house.
Paramedics assessed three patients at the scene but no one was transported to hospital.
NSW Ambulance inspector Troy Pan said the patients on scene including the mother and daughter inside the car the truck collided into were understandably quite shaken up by the incident..
"Paramedics assessed three people in total, who thankfully were all not injured," he said.
"A truck like this had the potential to cause severe and life threatening injuries."
