IF someone with a crystal ball told us last week that we'd hold Melbourne United to 75 points, we'd have liked our chances of winning.

If you'd told us we'd grab 21 offensive rebounds and force 18 turnovers, we'd just about assume it was a game we'd win. Of course you can't assume a thing in this league, it's always tossing up surprises; surprises like shooting at 31 per cent for a game.
It's hard to imagine a team with the shooters we have producing that type of number but it was just one of those nights for us on Saturday. I've experienced nights where guys just can't seem to make a shot and nights where they seemingly can't miss one.
You can only hope the former doesn't happen too often, but they inevitably arise at some point in a season. It is rare that guys all seem to have 'that night' on the same night but it's just the way things fell - or didn't fall - for us.
It's certainly frustrating, especially for a team that's scored as efficiently as we have this season, and probably more so given we got so many good looks.
We didn't take a whole lot of bad shots, they just didn't go down. It's not something you expect to see a repeat of, not with guys like Tyler Harvey and Justinian Jessup.
All things considered though, there's no doubt it was a disappointing performance for us. Goorj said after the game that we looked weary and he was right. Personally, I didn't feel too fatigued through the week or in the lead-up to the game. It was only really in hindsight that I realised there was a lull the morning of the game.
We were up for the fight, and we were in it for a long way, but we just couldn't carry it through. Looking across the league, it seemed to be a bit of a trend. There were some really low-scoring games and it was all a bit of a grind.
It could be a league-wide let-down following the NBL Cup but it's something we need to kick ourselves out of pretty quick. Friday's trip to Perth is the perfect opportunity to do that.
We were very poor against the Wildcats last time out and it really proved a line in the sand moment for us. We bounced back well with two wins and it's something we've done a couple of times though the year.
Obviously the big challenge any team faces against Perth is limiting Bryce Cotton's impact. Looking back at our last game against them, we did that early. We got the ball out of his hands, we just dropped our guard and let some of their other guys get going offensively.
It's a tough task, but we know we have a packed WEC waiting for us on the other side of it. That's a pretty juicy carrot and, while you can't look past a game against any team, knowing it's there can be a boost.
With the schedule for rounds 12-14 released on Tuesday, we know we have a bunch of games to come on our own floor. We've always known that was coming, but we can actually see it there on the horizon now.
We've got a job to do first, but we can't wait to get back and play in front of a packed house in Wollongong and really give our fans something to cheer about.
