Banks was informed by a nearby resident after the ute, believed to be a stolen hire vehicle, was burned out after vandals damaged the main pitch and training areas.
"It just makes you feel sick in the stomach," Banks said.
"You put in all the work after such a successful season for the club and now have to deal with this. "But we've got the dirt coming in (on Monday) and it will be ready, luckily the juniors don't start until next week.
"We maintain the ground ourselves, hopefully we can train this week."
Woonona won a fairytale league title in thrilling circumstances last year, before losing the grand final to Wollongong United. The Sharks' season opener against Bellambi had been washed out by last week's rain.
