Located at 169 Connors Creek Road, Broughton Village, it will be auctioned on April 28.
The 10.5-hectare property sits at the base of the Illawarra Escarpment, and is located between Berry and Gerringong.
Peter McAra and wife Wendy - hence the name 'Never-Never Land' - have owned the property since 1988.
Based in Sydney at the time, the couple completed building the house in 1993.
Initially a weekender, it became their permanent residence in 1999.
"We just wanted to design a property where you could get involved in living in the forest," Mr McAra said.
"It's all green, beautiful trees and little creeks, yet it's only a ten-minute drive to Berry or Gerringong.
"We think it's pretty much like paradise... We created it to be that way."
Connors Creek flows through the property.
The land slopes uphill to the west, giving ocean views.
The rainforest is home to 100-plus large red cedars, sprinkled among thousands of other trees. In addition to this, three cedar plantations of about 900 trees will produce green dollars.
The owners have also built 11 bridges and created more than a kilometre of rainforest walking tracks through the property.
Mr McAra said they were selling to downsize.
"Anybody who's a little bit green will love it... It's the ultimate green environment," he said.
The house includes four bedrooms, three bathrooms, upstairs media room and two studies.
The house was built with specially created bricks about 30cm thick, designed to create a 12-hour lag between outside and inside temperatures, providing cooler summers and warmer winters.
The bricks, called Gosford Pinks, are made from specially selected coloured sandstone.
The home also includes a circular-shaped outdoor area with what's described as an 'Opera House' roof, and seats 60-plus guests.
Selling agent, Ray White Gerringong's Neil Campbell said the property was "stunningly beautiful".
"You won't see more beautiful rainforest anywhere on the Illawarra Escarpment," he said.
