Wollongong City Council says the work has been scheduled to coincide with school holidays, so it will not affect Learn to Swim programs.
"We know that our heated indoor pool is an important facility during the colder months," Lord Mayor Gordon Bradbery said.
"That's why we've scheduled this work now so we can make sure the pool is ready to go in time for winter."
The council's other heated pools at Corrimal and Dapto will remain open during this time.
