Illawarra residents have wasted little time in using their Dine food vouchers over the past fortnight, but many are still yet to cash in on their Discover vouchers.

The Illawarra's Ryan Aitchison said more than 1000 Dine vouchers had already been redeemed at the hotel, while other eateries are also reporting larger numbers of people starting to use them daily.
However, it's been a slower start for the Discover vouchers, which can be used for entertainment and recreation, including cultural institutions, live music and arts venues.
Recent changes to the voucher system had meant both Dine and Discover vouchers can be used seven days a week, NSW Tourism Industry Council's Greg Binskin said.
The council had been calling for the restrictions to be relaxed so the industry could benefit from the $25 vouchers over the Easter break and school holiday period.
"The decision by the NSW Government to extend the use of vouchers seven days a week including public holidays is great news and a timely boost for the tourism and hospitality sector," he said.
Ryan Capobianco at SmashLAB Rage Room said he had been accepting the Discover vouchers for the past two weeks and more people were starting to use them.
"We were contacted by Services NSW this week saying we could accept them on public holidays and weekends," he said.
Amy Prytherch at Illawarra Fly Treetop Adventures said she expected the vouchers would be used by families wanting to see their fairy and elves attraction over the school holidays.
Visitors can venture through the "enchanted fairy forest, where elves and fairies have houses and stories to tell along the way", she said.
