The fish disappeared when the sun hit the water and still conditions didn't help.
Metal slugs and chromed slices saw tailor, bonito, mackerel and salmon surrender, but only if you nailed the perfect long cast as most schools were cruising behind the wave action where the bait schools were getting hammered by larger predators. There were no reports of mulloway captures as, again, conditions and moon phase were out of kilter.
